A professional climber, guide, adventure photographer, and motivational speaker, Jake has guided thousands of clients to the summits of the world's tallest and most challenging mountains.
Jake was part of the 1999 Everest expedition that discovered George Mallory's remains; in 2004 he retraced Shackleton's 1917 Antarctic expedition; and in 2006 he led the first American ascent of Tibet's 25,502-foot Gurla Mandhata.
"With my team's and clients' lives at stake, a watch that's also a compass, altimeter, barometer, and thermometer helps me climb lighter, saves precious time, and ensures the team's success."
As a photographer, Jake has crisscrossed the globe on behalf of the likes of PBS and Discovery.
"A timepiece like the Casio Pathfinder that's solar powered, water resistant, and even graphs the tides is a real time saver when I'm on assignment."

Use the Pathfinder's altimeter to help gauge the time you'll need to reach the summit! The altimeter take readings every 5 seconds for the first two minutes and then ever 2 minutes there after. The graphing function positions you with respect to your target altitude, while alarm alerts you as you approach your mark. Measuring range is from -700 to 10,000 meters (-2,300 to 32,800 ft.).
Predict changing weather patterns using the Pathfinder's barometer. It takes readings every two hours and stores them automatically. It graphically displays the barometric pressure for the past 20 hours. The display ranges from 260 to 1,100 hPa/mb (7.65 to 32.45 inHg) with changeovers from hPa to inHg.
For peace of mind, just point the Pathfinder’s 12 o'clock position in the direction you wish to measure, push the button and you can take readings in one of 16 directions. North, South, East and West are indicated simultaneously along with an angle value in degrees. With bearing memory, you can store a direction reading and display that reading during subsequent compass readings.
You can use the Sunrise/Sunset Mode to look up the sunrise and sunset times for a particular date (year, month, day) and location.
